Loi de composition interne ⊤, définie sur un ensemble M, distributive à gauche (respectivement à droite) par rapport à une loi de composition interne ⊥ définie sur M, loi ⊤ telle que, pour tout triplet (a,b,c) d'éléments de M, on aa ⊤ (bc) = (ab) ⊥ (ac) [respectivement (bc) ⊤ a = (ba)⊥ (ca)]. (La loi est dite distributive lorsqu'elle est à la fois distributive à gauche et à droite.)
